King Mickey

We celebrated Mardi Gras this weekend, complete with Jambalaya and King Cake. We also read about the origins and traditions of Mardi Gras....which none of us really knew. Interesting.

Apparently, every Mardi Gras needs a king. So, we crowned our own. The tradition is this...make a king cake and place a tiny baby figurine in the cake. The one who finds the baby in the cake gets crowned King for the whole year. So, Mickey is our king for 2012.....like that will be a big change for us!

He promises to be a benevolent dictator....so, maybe that will be a change.

Valentines Day Celebrations....

Handmade valentines.....heart shaped pizza and lots of puppy love!


Speaking of love....here is a funny story from someone we all know and love!


Billy had drama practice on Valentines day, so he was staying late. But, I had to pick up JJ at normal time. But, I was running late because I was trying to get Jessie in the car....and she was not cooperating! But, when I say late...not really late. There were still 2 cars in the pick-up line behind me. But, when JJ got in the car....he was M-A-D. And when he gets mad, he gets so worked up to the point of crying. And, so I said, "JJ, it is not that big of a deal...you were not the last person to be picked up....(at which point, a girl we know walked out of school to her car...which was the LAST in line)...I continued....Look, there is Natalie and she is not crying.

To which JJ replied, "Yeah, well she looks really pissed off!"

Touche!

Future Shawn Whites?

Maybe not....but they sure did enjoy learning how to snowboard this winter. And, I am thinking it might be a long term hobby/sport?

Brilliant Billy

If you look really closely....you can see that Billy made the ALL A's Honor Roll. Way to go Billy!!! We are very proud of his hard work!

JJ's report card was good too....but he is not old enough to get letter grades yet.

'Just Dreamers'....

Right before bed last night, Billy asked for me to get him something. I forget what he wanted, actually...but that is not the point of the story. (another new Nerf gun, I suppose. How is it possible that we do not have them all by now????) I told him no, to which he whined for a minute. JJ walked in and responded, 'Oh, yeah Billy, well I want a full-scale model of Disney Land......so I guess were are both nothing but a dreamer!"

I know he is mine so I am biased, but that kid is funny!

Have a playdate for Jessie with her new friend Laya....puppy of JJ's buddy Sir Lancealot!

100th day of school.....

Calls for a giant cookie with 100 Skittles (or M&M's) on them!
