Midsummer Night's Ice Cream Dream Party

On Saturday, we had a party at our house. It was an ice cream party! We ate ice cream first then we played kick the can and then we caught fireflies. When we caught fireflies it was really fun! After it got dark, we played flashlight tag. Our backyard was competely dark so there were lots of places to hide. Before the party, Mickey's friend was on a fire call and the other firemen brought him to the party in the fire truck. We all got to climb on it before they left. Our party was awesome!

Rocket Launch

On Saturday, we went to my school....SSES an launched my rocket. It went at least 500 feet in the air (or more!). We could not see it at first. We were afraid it was going to hit an airplane! We launced it twice. We were going to launch it three times, but the rocket wouldnt go...we think it was too hot! The first launch almost landed on the roof of the school. We were glad it landed in the field behind. We were all lucky it did not land on the roof! The second time, a part broke off an we looked and looked but could not find it. We are also lucky the ground did not catch on fire because the grass is really dry and humid. I loved launching my rocket!

BBC (Boys Book Club)

We just had our second meeting of the Boys Book Club (BBC)! We had lots of fun and even got to use my waterslide! I loved BBC! This summer, we will read 5 books. We meet every other week to talk about the book we just read. Our first book was Dear Max. In this book, Max writes letters to his friend DJ. Our whole book club has pen pals now. I actually have two....one from Hawaii and one from Chicago. We are now reading our next book, Boxcar Children. I loved BBC!

Summer is Here!

And we celebrated it in style at the waterpark with our besties.....Stay tuned for highlight videos (as soon as Minnie learns how to post them)...

It is the summer of love by the way, which means no fighting between Billy and JJ. How long do you think that will last?

A Preschool Graduate with a big plan..a post by Minnie

JJ graduated preschool two weeks ago. Both sets of grandparents were there to witness the event first hand, as well as one set of great-grandparents. We all swelled with pride when JJ's picture popped up on the screen with the question being, 'What do you want to be when you grow up'? His answer..."A pirate"!

Here is JJ's stream of consciousness as to his future life:

I will be a nice pirate. My name will be Tootooga. I will kill bad guy pirates and sink their ships and capture their booty. I will have a big fort on land and tie my cruise ship up there. Then I will be captain of the whole world. And, mom, I will come back to visit you every six years...

What a bright future

The National Zoo...by Billy

A couple days ago I went to the National Zoo on a field trip with my 1st grade class. The bus ride there was long. When we got there, my friends, my Grandma and Minnie went straight to the Panda's first. One of them was eating bamboo and the other one was pushing something up on a rock. While we were watching them, I was hit in the face by some moron* kid for no reason. That really stunk because it hurt and also because we had to leave and pandas are my favorites!

Then we went to see the small mammals...then we saw an elephant doing tricks. After that we saw farm animals and some orangutans up on a wire climbing across half of the zoo. We walked a really long way...up a huge hill to see the big cats after we went to Amazonian. At the end of the trip we went to the gift shop. Grandma bought me a panda stuffed animal because it was my favorite...and J.J a giraffe because he was home sick and sad with strep throat...and that is what he asked for.

This was the best field trip ever!

*A Note from Minnie: I would not usually let Billy post such a mean name....but the kid really did hit him for no reason..so I feel the name is warrented in this instance!

The Greatest Story Ever...written and illustrated by J.J

Synopsis:

Lazers shooting out of eyeballs, airplanes with lightning shooting them down; and big tall buildings and big scarey witches with flying brooms. This is a story about Sticky Beard and Harry and Rotenwire too...and Garfield and Odie and John.

Stay tuned...maybe we can figure out how to scan the pictures in...not to be missed:)
